How it works

Three steps from idea to production agent.

01

Spin up a workspace

Pick a base image. We boot an always-on workspace in your account, attach your repos, and open a browser IDE.

02

Code, run, iterate

Full Linux, your runtime of choice. Long-running tasks, browsers, headless services – anything Docker can do.

03

Promote to Magic Agent

When the agent is ready, promote the container build to a Magic Agent on the edge. Same code, edge cold-start.

Use cases

What people ship on Magic Workshop.

Agent development environment

Code your agent in a container with Claude Code or Cursor in the loop. Promote to Magic Agent when production-ready.

Long-running jobs

Crawlers, scrapers, batch jobs, headless browsers – all the workloads that don't fit edge runtimes.

Self-hosted MCP servers

Run your own MCP servers with full filesystem and network access. Reachable by Magic Agent and any other client.

Migrating from Replit / Daytona

Bring your existing repos. We mount them, connect your terminal, and put your dev environment one click away.

FAQ

Questions we hear a lot.

What's the difference between Magic Workshop and Magic Agent?

Magic Workshop is an always-on workspace for development and runtime – full Linux, full tools, persistent disk. Magic Agent is the edge runtime where production agents live. You build in Workshop, ship to Agent. Many teams use both.

Is the workspace always on?

Yes. Solo, Pro, and Team workspaces stay running 24/7 with the vCPU and RAM listed. Enterprise customers can configure scale-to-zero and burst quotas.

Can I run my own MCP servers?

Yes. Pro and above include the Magic Workshop MCP gateway, which exposes any MCP server you run inside the workspace to other agents over a public-but-authenticated URL.

Which base images are supported?

Default is a Node + Python + uv image with Claude Code, Cursor SSH bridge, and the Magic Sites CLI pre-installed. You can also bring any Docker image we can boot on our infrastructure.

How do repos work?

Connect a GitHub or GitLab repo and we clone it into the workspace with persistent disk. Solo gets one repo; Pro five; Team unlimited. Pushing happens through your normal Git remotes.

What's promote-to-Magic-Agent?

When your agent code is ready, one command builds it for the edge runtime and registers it as a Magic Agent on your account. Your workspace keeps running for development; the edge agent serves production traffic with sub-50ms cold start.

What's in Enterprise?

Custom workspace sizes, dedicated regions, private network connectivity, DPA + sub-processor list, WorkOS SSO + directory sync, and a named CSM. Pricing starts at $1,500/mo and scales with footprint.
